DNC and ODP Secure Legal Win for Early Voting in Ohio

Washington, DC—Today the US District Court for the Southern District of Ohio ruled in favor of the Democratic National Committee and the Ohio Democratic Party’s motion for summary judgment to permanently maintain the three early voting days before Election Day. This filing is in response to Ohio Republicans efforts to remove voting on the Saturday, Sunday, and Monday before Election Day.

Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz released the below statement:

“Today’s decision reaffirms the importance of voting early. In 2012, 96,000 Ohioans were able to cast their ballot during the final three days of early voting. This November and beyond, thousands more will be able to join them. This isn't just a victory for the Democratic Party, it's a victory for the democratic process.”
